I'm now into my second year as CML with the Wave Youth and Children's Ministry. My first year was a steep learning curve, with highs and lows, success and mistakes; in fact, accepting my mistakes and learning from them was one of the hardest lessons to learn.
Three shiny-new interns have arrived and we've spent the past couple of weeks getting to know each other, and they've had the unenviable task of being paraded around like prize marrows at a country fair, and been on the receiving end of an overwhelming amount of names, faces and information regarding the running of Wave Kids.
Bethany, Kyle and Jemma are going to be amazing, and to say I'm excited about working with them is an understatment! However, they too will make mistakes; we all do. It's in how we respond to our failures that shows who we truely are. For most of us, there is a massive instinct to run and hide, when we mess up. It takes a great deal of strength to admit to our mistakes, to learn from them, and not beat ourselves up, but to move on.
If you are the praying sort, then please pray for us, that this coming academic year, God will use our failures to mould us and shape us into the people He wants us to be. What we are trying to acheive with Wave Kids is pointless if it's not God who's leading us- and with Him, there is always another chance, always a new begining.
