So, from my last blog post to now has been quite a journey! I’m still just as excited about all the work I get to do here, if not more so. I especially love getting time in schools just to serve, whether that’s in assemblies, lunchtimes or lessons – GCSE maths has come in handy! My comfort zone has grown a hundred times bigger and is ever expanding; just last week I helped plan and lead a Mother’s Day service at Emmanuel Baptist Church, which is something I never pictured myself doing. Playing human ‘Guess Who’ was definitely a highlight!
I would really value prayer for rest that is actually restful – not just time off where my brain is still going a million miles an hour! I’m also considering my path for next year, so if God could make that really clear really soon that would be awesome!
Hi! I'm Bethany and I hail from a little village outside Yeovil. I spent last year as a children and families intern at my home church in Yeovil, but now God has called me to move out of my comfort zone and come to The Wave - eek! That said, moving here has gone pretty smoothly and I'm all settled in and starting to recognise faces...I apologise if I fail to remember your name and we've met a hundred times, everyone should wear name badges for intern convenience.
So far the work has been awesome - I've never had a chance to do school's work before so I'm really excited to be getting stuck in with that. I know it's going to be a year of learning and growth but I'm certain I've got the support I need - between Rob, Kyle, Jemma and of course God we've got an incredible team!
I'd say my main prayer points would be to get enough rest in between crazy days, and that myself and the team will be able to have the impact that God has brought us to do. Thanks!
